As segment producer, I interview and direct these pageant contestants both in their home states and also in Las Vegas at the Miss USA Pageant. Below is a sample of the packages I produced that appeared On-Air during the live broadcast on FOX on May 14th, 2017.
As talent interviewer, the winners stop by my set immediately after accepting their awards on stage and discuss their important stories. This is my second year working these prestigious awards and I've had the honor of interviewing Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Keegan Michael Key, Rashida Jones, Ava DuVernay, CBS News anchor Jim Axelrod, Director Cary Fukunaga, HBO real sports team, the cast of Blackish, the cast of Jessica Jones and many other talented journalists and show creators. The show is taped live and then re-packaged to include these interviews for the national broadcast on PBS and Fusion TV on June 2, 2017.
Traveling through 18 states in 36 days, I produce and direct 18 Miss USA contestant's biographies to air on FOX during the Miss USA Pageant.
This year is the 75th anniversary of the Peabody Awards. I work backstage to interview the host and winners about their projects for bio packages to play during the televised version on June 6th, 2016.
As a journalist, I go around the world searching for a story. Sometimes you stumble upon a story you wish you could forget. While filming an independent documentary about an expedition to Mt. Everest, an avalanche almost kills me. On April 25, 2015, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake ravages Nepal and releases an avalanche over Everest base camp. I provide the Dateline production team with footage for the show and also work for NBC news on the ground in Nepal during the making.
In 2014, I work as part of an NBC crew to film Joby Ogwyn's attempt to Wing Suit off Mt. Everest. The event is to broadcast live from the base camp of Mt. Everest in Nepal. I follow Joby's training in the USA for 4 months and then join him on his trek to Everest Base Camp. Tragically on April 18th, an ice avalanche kills 16 sherpa. The climbing season is closed and the event is cancelled.
I stay at base camp with one other crew member to document the aftermath. I film interviews with survivors and the Sherpa as they use this tragedy to fight for more rights. Two weeks after the avalanche, this one-hour documentary airs on Discovery Channel as "Everest Avalanche Tragedy."
I explore every corner of Alaska to find some of the toughest machines out there for this Science Channel Show.
From Dutch Harbor to Barrow to Sitka, I travel over 20,000 miles and endure temperatures of -40F to produce stories about the people and machines that keep Alaska running through the frigid arctic winters. (Other cities included Anchorage, Fairbanks, Deadhorse, Kodiak, Juneau, Homer, Clear, Delta Junction, Whittier and Akutan.)
Some of the machines I cover are the Chinook Helicopter, Tustumena Ferry, Coast Guard Cutter Spar, Port of Anchorage including their mighty tug boats, Trident Fish Processing Plant and the Alaskan Railroad.
Jeb Corliss is one of the most famous base jumpers and Wingsuit pilots out there. Known for death-defying mega stunts, his latest is "Human Arrow." While working with NBC Peacock Productions for NBC Sports, I produce and edit these pieces to illustrate Jeb's past stunts.
HUMAN ARROW - press release - Jeb Corliss will drop from a helicopter at 6000 feet, fly through the air at 120 mph and punch through a target the size of an apple suspended over the Great Wall of China. WWL will produce the coverage of his next high-intensity stunt, set to broadcast live on Tianjin TV.
“Jeb is an inspiration, constantly pushing the boundaries of what is humanly possible,” said Iiro Seppanen, President of World Wingsuit League. “WWL continues to deliver live cutting-edge sporting events you’ll need to see to believe and Jeb’s next stunt will be nothing short of breathtaking.”
Corliss is known as one of the world’s foremost and best-known BASE-jumpers and wingsuit pilots, having dedicated his life to human flight. With more than 19 years of experience, he is said to have completed over 1,000 BASE-jumps in 20 countries on six continents, and over 3,000 wingsuit flights. This is the third joint- venture with Corliss and WWL.
The jump is postponed from October 2015 to May of 2016.
Along the Southern border, the Border Patrol work around the clock to stem the flow of drugs and people crossing from Mexico. We have 6 film teams embed with agents around McAllen, Texas, as they patrol up and down the banks of the Rio Grande River. I work in the field as story producer to assemble these stories of capture and confiscation.
